Behavior
Management/Crisis Intervention: Passive Restraint
Thursday,
May 6, 2004; 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Effective discipline in the form of behavior
management and limit setting are critical components of any comprehensive
daycare program. Tempering discipline with patience, love and kindness
is a constant tightrope act for a provider; maintaining a safe and
enjoyable environment for children, while establishing limits that
respect the rights of others. Even with these precautions, some
of the most experienced day care providers have found themselves
in situations where accusations are made regarding the appropriateness
of issuing discipline. Participants' most challenging experiences
will be the foundation for exploring various techniques of behavior
management and crisis intervention. Vicki Thomas will present the
program. Bring
your Professional Development Record (PDR) to this workshop. We'll
help you fill it out.
